I've never seen it this dark so early before...it must be global warming

What else could it be?

Ok, ok...so its daylight savings.  But I hear so much blamed on global warming I thought I might as well add that to the list.

All this dark is making me tired.

Well...This Glue Works worked after a second application.  At least so far.

Over the last 3 weeks I've:

been to LA Fashion week (where I got to see the "green" themed British-punk fashion show by Monarchy whose runway was made of live grass and whose male models had fake cuts on their faces while the women had crazy large hair)

spent a weekend helping people move and then helping a client with a film shoot so we can make a reel for her -resulting in no real weekend, making for a very long week

watched the air become less and less breathable as Malibu and San Diego burned ("unhealthy for everyone" according to the red dots lining the west coast in the air quality diagram of the LA Times)

had a friend visit who had to learn the public transportation system rather quickly in order to take advantage of her days here while I was working - and who also learned Russian since the last time I spend quality time with her (and I only point this out because it was very strange to hear her holding a phone conversation in Russian and ordering meals at the local Ukrainian restaurant she took me and my roommates to)

We carved pumpkins...went to El Dia De Los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetery (the third picture with the dancing people on the stage over the moat that surrounds some apparently formerly very rich persons mausoleum)...and hiked up to Griffith Observatory (which would have had a great view ((see below)) if it weren't for the extra thick air from the fires)

I'm a sucker for infomercials.  I've never acted on this minor amusement but am very intrigued by the whole genre and rather tempted by their persuasive $19.99 deals with bonus items that themselves are worth more than $19.99!

Yesterday I was driving to pick up the trades for work and hit an open car door snapping off my passenger side mirror.  Fortunately the arm of the mirror came off in one piece, breaking from the car at the base, and the only thing that is damaged is the actual mirror.  I've decided to fix this myself - as I spent $250 getting my drivers side mirror replaced not long ago after a hit and run and don't feel like sinking that much into the other side of a car that is slowly whittling away at what little savings I have and won't last me too much longer.  Also, it's pretty much a guarantee that I'll hit another open car door or some other object, sedentary or moving, with that mirror again (they stick out so far!) so I might as well just wait until then to get it fixed for real.

After some quick internet research I came across a product called ThisGlueWorks.  The infomercial-lover in me reacted immediately to the customer testimonies and promises plastered all over the website.  I sent an query in and received a reply saying this product will definitely hold hold the mirror to my car but will not hold the glass mirror itself.  I should be receiving this miracle glue in 5 days.  Next step is to order a replacement mirror from an auto parts store up the street.  In all this project will be 1/5 the cost of an entire replacement.
